On my car all I had to do was put in a 3/8 inch valve under the steering wheel with a 3/8 inch line going into the intake behind the throttle plates. When out on the road cruising I open it. Average MPG went from around 21 to 24. With the hydrogen generator(now 2 :-) it's around 26. It's a very crude setup though, what I need is an electric switch to cut the air flow on and off as I press the pedal. I still might keep the valve though, to cut back on by passed air as it can get a little too lean and miss at times. However, with the hydrogen generators added this has been much improved.

Hi Kevin,

Probably there is an existing electronic device that with it you can control
your O2 sensor,or maybe it will be good to inject only hydrogen .

On George Wiseman's site there's a devise for $50 that will do the job, they say.

That oxygen does much for combustion too. Anyway, the valve setup was only about $5, will probably last longer, and was much easier to put on. Not to mention, "I did it my way.". ;-)

Hi,

When I took the electrolyser apart I relized that on the SS plates there is thousands of pits(hollow.niche) the size of little bubbles. Why did the surface of the plates get demaged? :?:

thanks

Depends upon the grade of stainless steel used, and what you have used for electrolytes with it. All grades of stainless are eroded by compounds containing chloride, like salt. 316 grade has the highest resistance to chlorides, but it is still vulnerable. Other reactive compounds will erode stainless steel as well, but to a lesser degree. Heat reduces the resistance to these compounds.

Would you like a little salt and pepper with your boiled stainless? ;-)

I'm not sure, but I think it's from the powerful/electrical forces involved. They seem to have a very strong oxidizing effect. If you use iron for an electrode it will rust VERY fast and in extreme amounts. The best combo I've used yet is stainless steel(316 or 304) with NaOH.

Hi,

Yes, my plates are SS 304, and I used salt once, as I didn't have any Sodium Hydroxide.

Kevin was mocking my question about injecting hydrogen by itself, but I really wanna know if I have to do any mods to the oxygen sensor if I were to actually inject the hydrogen itself. :) :?:

No mocking from me, I think you misunderstood. By adding both H and O from electrolysis you shouldn't be changing the fuel air ratio at all I would think.

For Bob and the experts:

As Bob suggested, I put together a seven cell electrolyser. I did NOT put the plates into plexiglass slots, but I inserted rubber spacers (5 mm thick) between the plates, and tightened the entire set by using bolts. After tightening, the space between tha plates is 4 mm. I this case I had absolutely NO current or electrolyte leaking.
Stainless steel plates are 8" x 6".

I hooked the device to a running car, and determined that the electrolysis uses about 3.2A, at over 14 volts (constantly). I connected the first two plates (shorted), so I had six cells.
After that it started using 15-16 A and the voltage remained over 14 volts. The gas production at that point was 1.4L/min.

What is the reason why I can't reach that kind of production with seven plates ?!? (no shorting)
