Bob...
I totally get what you're saying here. It makes perfect sense. No contamination. Now, I've been at this site for quite a long time now and I don't remember this being mentioned.
When you put the cells together, you sand a cross-hatch in the plates with course sand paper. Now, what would be the best way to clean the plates after doing that? I mean, a dry cloth, sure...but there's always that extremely fine metal grit (and sand grit) that gets in the metal, and needs something to clean it out with (usually some sort of chemical). Now, I believe I used either naptha, or some sort of fuel like that (which may be my problem) since I'm getting foaming, and yellow at the top. Also, my first unit was not the cleanest at all. Now, I am really interesting in cleaning it and the rest before I put them all together.
What are your suggestions on the best way to have everything perfectly clean? This includes cleaning my PVC, and stainless.
Any other suggestions as well would be great. I'm trying to get around "cooking" all of the units I might make. I will definitely do it to these units, but I am trying to prevent the need
Thanks!
