I've been give this a bit of thought lately. We often see co2 as the enemy, trying to reduce our emmisions and such. Don't get me wrong, the evidence is there that proves that it contributes to global warming. But can we use this emission more fully?
Check out these 2 links
It seems that we have a much better carbon caputre technology available. Also it seems that it's not only Sodium Hydroxide that this works with. Apparently it also works with Sodium Cloride water. Yes salt water. I can't find the link but if you bubble co2 through salt water it forms sodium bicabonate. And we got penty of uses for that. An aquarium bubbler and air pump running off a solar pannel could be a basic setup. Humm looks like I'll be looking for my old fish tank.
But why not also use co2 as a working medium? Like in AlaskaStars sterling cycle engine? It is already being used as a refridgerant. It's non ozone depleting. And can be readly compressed and liquified and different attainable tempretures and pressures.
What do you all think?
