So, what do these wave patterns look like? I have been sending pulses through a variety of toroids, and solenoids, and the solenoids emit a normal wave, mostly, sinewaves. The toroids seem to to emit waves that look like elvish writings... LOL
Lots of hockey stick, L like figures, and upside down as well. Which leads me to the next question. If I am sending a DC pulse through the primaries, but the secondaries are giving me an AC voltage, is my oscilliscope busted? The scope has an integrated 1 khz/1 volt square wave oscillator for calibration, and the reading is correct.
Also, I am in my basement when I do this, and there lots of rock deposits about 2 ft under the top dirt outside. When I take a reading from one toroid straight without any power, I see millivolt frequencies in the 1-1.3 mhz region. What is that, shortwave radio or something?
Bzzz...
