Ok, I am starting this thread because I don't understand what is going on. I have a 2 plate cell, with distilled water, and some 'impurities', not caustics, or acids, but not dirty equipment either. Regardless, I am getting odd readings that I don't understand.
I am taking a cheap wall dc power supply, and hooking it up to my unit. Without anything else, I am getting a pure sawtooth wave, at 2.2 vdc now, at 130hz. This is AC freq on a DC current, at about 15 volts dc, on a 20 vdc power supply.
Again, I measure the power supply freq by itself, and its completely flat at 20 vdc. I adjust the oscilloscope and read around 1.something mhz, the peaks are hard to count as they keep moving.
I have been doing some research on sawtooth waves, and all I can find is that it originally was a sinewave, but with the 25th harmonic.
Another weird thing, that happened only once, was that at one point, the sawtooth wave inverted to where it the peak was in the beginning of the wave. The rest of the time, the peak was at the end.
Any ideas? 'Hey, stupid, its just this' comments are welcome as well. I just wanna isolate this and move on.
Bzzz...
