Thank you both DK and mack. I had an interesting day today. I tried it with red divil lye. IT was working great until it stopped working. It just stopped. I don't know why. I moved the connector clip that was on the battery around and the reactor started going crazy for a minute. Then, the clips on both the positive and negative side heated up red hot. I just yanked the wire out at that point.

I am definetly an example of what not to do to a car. I'm gonna give it a rest and get some saftey devices in place first.

Could be wrong, but it sounds like it's drawing more amps then is available. How much lye did you use?

Thanks guys. Nice to know I wasn't really scolded. And, that chem chart is definetly going to help me not blow myself up.

I had an interesting night. I used Red Devil Lye this time. It was really working great, for a while. Then, it just shut down. And, it was clear and every thing. There was no corrosion either.

I started moving the wire connected to the battery. All the sudden the reactor started going ape shit and both the positive and negative wires got red hot. That's when I just yanked the wires out.

I'll say that I know better too. I should have used a fuseable link.

I'm definetly going to take a step back and make a real one with plenty of safety percautions this time.
