On this one i have to point out somthing or two. First of all, turbo or turbine was invented to increas the airflow into the engine, Pushing the air in instead of using engine power to suck the air in. This was don becous of it´s huge advantage in power output and performens. This is alsow true for the supercharger (almost). The turbo/turbine comes from the jetengine and was adaptet for ICE in the 60-70´s, and the first commercial car that used a turbo is the 1975 BMW 2002ti and it rapedly became an classic.
The normal range of engine increas in power output is 12-35% (0.3 - 1 bar), not 100% and it´s directly contected to the fuel-air mixture, this is the first benefit. The second benefit is (surpris) the low fuel consumption .. one can wonder why? hmm
This is a rule: The turbo has a workingrange between 3000-7000 rpm and the supercharger works from 1000-5000. The differens in range makes me whant them both. A supercharger for the lower rpm´s and a turbo for the higher rpm´s. There exists a third combination where a supercharger and a turbo is one part, but this is not a personel favorit.
So, depending on what one are looking for, the usage can eather give you one or both advantages. Both is normal if it´s used visly!
A good engine has a hemispheric burningchamber - halo sparks - turbo & supercharger - cheramic coating and HHO fuel. This is on my wichlist
The Mighty Engine has many advatages the pistone engine doesent, but it´s not comerciel yet, so will se when that happens if it does.
