I envision a watercar somewhat differently from the current approaches.

you have 2 paths, BOTH will likely need to be travelled, so

Path A... Bolt-on retrofit for existing cars
Problems would include use of water, if all 660,000,000 cars started burning H2O that would strain the already limited supply of potable water.
Several drops that could release even 1/10 of the POP of the keelynet article would be very efficient.
I see a small inline reaction chamber for each cylinder rather than one big tank somewhere.
To catch on, it has to be relatively cheap and have absolutely zero end-user adjustments (above adding water, that is). The biggest hurdle will be retrofitting all the S.S. exhaust systems.., IF it works ever.

Path B... Clean-sheet small engine/generator to feed current electric motor(s)
Benefit is using less water. The generator will need to beas revolutionary as the water-burning motor that turns it.
Ultra Caps could smooth the ride.

I'm still trying to learn how to program my ATMega168...
May eventyally just break down and buy some actual lab equipment.

I have done nothing yet with transducers, in fact the only meaningful experiment I have completed was to prove (at least to myself) that electrolysis is greatly enhanced in a strong PM field (2 N50 NdFeB's), at least on a small scale.

Right now I have put all the HHO work on hold in favor of something completely different.
