here is a simplified version of a quad-redundant, microprocessor-controlled reaction based on alaskastar's chemical decomposition of galvanized iron in a bath of H2SO4. i have labeled all important parts of the system, so i can explain it, patent-style, if anyone cannot understand how the process can and could be controlled. i know hydrogen world was looking to see this, however its posted here for all to see...

one last thing to note, the only thing that cannot run by way of simple relay/switch/valve/sensor is the length of time the H2SO4 pump can be run/valve stays open, and the same for the NH3 tank valve/pump. if the system is gravity fed, then just a valve could be utilized, however- a pump would be far more accurate as the amount of catalyst in the tank would determine the pressure forcing the fluid through the hoses and obviously, flow rates would change considerably as the tank neared empty.

You may want to look into the other end of the system. The end of the tube that is feeding something called an ENGINE. You may want to look on that end of the system to see where you can make changes to have anything useful for miles come out of this system.

Otherwise do like the Bio-Diesel people do: Process it at home, fill your vehicle at home and otherwise don't drive far from home.

Alaskastar,

1, Have you done any experimenting to get a longer duration / slower steady production? I am thinking about a back up home heating unit. My current home heat is tied to the grid that gets knocked out every ice storm

2, The other side of that is figuring out the "electrolysis" regeneration side of the reaction. Can you point me to any info that will save em from having to reinvent that wheel from scratch?

Dave, the reaction will only continue untill all the H2SO4 is converted to FeSO4 and ZnSO4. Once that happens the reaction will stop.

Now, if you put two electrodes in, say two sheets of gal mesh or any scrap, and then put DC onto them, the Fe and Zn will then plate back on to these electrodes. Once the power is cut off, the orignal process starts again, also producing a voltage in the electrodes, which can be used to help regenerate the electrodes in another cell.

Jehu is right on the DC part...BUT, if you use more than 1 volt, the ionic discharge will cause your material to become a thick BLACK in color and any impurities that would otherwise not be removed/ converted are now coating the surface of everything.

1 Volt.

Try it with more and you will discover what happens in less than 60 seconds.
