List of scattered thoughts and wishes

This year our hearts and thoughts go out to all the folks in the armed services in Iraq. Also to the citizens of Iraq trying to find peace in their land.

You know everyone is in a hurry at this time of year and everything just seems to multiply like crazy, but when you are out and about, please remember to not speed. Most of us are in a rush but so many accidents happen by just that, accident. We can get distracted by everything that is going on but by taking a few extra minutes you may arrive a bit late, but at least you (and others) will arrive at your destination.

Also at this time my wishes and respect are with those who have to work at this holiday time so the rest of us can relax.....Thank you.

Please do a random acts of kindness! Hold the door for someone, compliments, LISTENING, these little things can make such a huge impact.

If you celebrate something other than Christmas, please leave a comment and tell about what holiday you do celebrate. I love learning about other cultures and their traditions.

A friend of mine sent me these tongue-in-cheek holiday wishes. In these times of political correctness, it is an example of how we can sometimes go too far:

“Please accept with no obligation implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non-addictive, gender neutral, celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasions and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all…

...as well as a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling, and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2007, but not without due respect for the calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great, (not to imply that we are necessarily greater than any other country or that we are the only country in the western hemisphere), and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith, choice of computer platform, or sexual preference.
