Human power. Anyone tried it?

I've had the idea of human (or even animal) power for a while now too. My idea was to use the motion of things like doors and drawers to generate power. The problem is that in an average house, these movements would generate such a small amount of power I don't see it working

The only way I can see this kind of human power as feasible is for a revolving door in a highly trafficked building. Even then, it might only produce enough power for one or a few lights. any thoughts on this?
