Given the diagram above, with 5 physical containers... and your question about a single sight tube....
IF you had another container the same size or larger.... you could alter the cell containers to allow for a L or T type connecter into each of them as appropriate to connect them all in parallel from the new container. The new (Fill) container will be aligned either exactly the same height as the cells or a little higher, with a hose running from the fill container to each cell. This will allow "Standpipe pressure and gravity to feed each of the cells as they "use / convert" the water to Hydroxy.... this should keep all containers at exactly the same water level regardless of each cells efficiency. Also, if you were to use one way check valves, then you could ensure that a build up in pressure in the cells did not push the water back up into the "Fill Container". This is situation might occurr when its time to add water and electrolyte to the resevoir.
Additionally, you could even add a water level warning light as suggested in the "Hydrogen Tap" designs if you really wanted to another "idiot light" do your dashboard. That may sound a little derogatory, but I really think its a great idea and would not have suggested it otherwise.
