Compressing Hydrogen

I am not familiar with the principles of the compressor from a referigerator. How is the pressure generated? I assume it is a closed system so it may work if it were opened although again I don't know a lot about the system. I wonder what type of psi I could get out of it from a standard household referigerator and how difficult it would be to keep oxygen out. Thanks for the info. Any more input?

well, i do know that paintball gun tank filling systems (not the c02, the nitrogen tanks) use extremely high pressure storage tanks and compressors.

diving tank compressors operate up to about 3000psi, so thats a good place to stay. again, as chemelec said, isolate your anode and cathode and get rid of the oxygen.....store just the hydrogen,.
