This is a table of all the tests that i did w/ the AL+H2O+NAOH reaction. every time the AL was completely reacted, meaning that there was little specks of what i beleive was aluminum oxide scattered throughout the solution. there was no structure to it what-so-ever. i got the best gas production with aproximently 1cup water to 6tsp NAOH, and 16 square inches AL.

this is the "Red neck" settup i used for measureing the gas output of each test. i measured out various valumes useing good old fasion breath and estimating the valume in the baloon with reference to (looking at) a 2 lit. soda bottle. i then measured and marked an inch on the baloon, that way, when the baloon got to that spicific valume you could hold up your ruller and see if it was an inch. anouther way to do it would be to use one of those pumps that also has a PSI gage on it, and blow the baloon up using it and measure out your inch at key valume (PSI) incriments.

Lesson learned with this settup was to NEVER test it inside. When i did just that (out of lazyness and stupidity) the baloon came loose due to too much preasure and no help on holding it down (its usialy good to hold it firmly to the container) and a bunch of that wierd gas came out.

using this you can safely measure out quantities of hazordus chemicals that you wouldnt want to get on your tsp, tblsp, and cup measureing utincles that your wife uses for making cookies . simply measure your desired unit into your wifes cooky-making measureing utincles, USING WATER. then pour that water into the cup (should be a plastic disposible cup that no one will pick up and use for their drinking out of). mark where the water line is at, and put the unit that you originaly measured out (such as 2oz 1cup ect..)
