Project Description:
Electrolyser v4.

-In this version, my main goal was to minimize the amount of standing hydroxy in the system.
-I changed this version to submerged, instead of series.  Series cell electrolysers are quite a pain in the butt.
-Everything in this version is quite cheap ($20 in shim stock, $30 in hardware, $4 in containers, so far).
-My ultimate goal is to create many of these units in series, off a 24v power supply, and to create enough gas for welding.

Updates:
10/10/05 - Updated title of the project.  Abandoned because of difficulties sealing the container.

Then take a drill bit that has an O.D. that is smaller than the inside of the threads of the threaded nylon ro.d

Picture of the gas nipple on the container.

Picture inside of the nipple.  Yeah, so I wasn't directly in the center.  It works -- thats all that matters.

The setup all hooked up for its test.  The test ended in failure.  I have a leak somewhere.  I really hope it isn't the ziplock containers.

I've grown rather attached to them, and fear that I'd miss the little buggers.

A picture of the action anyhow.  Seems like fair gas production -- I wasn't overly impressed, really.  I think it has alot to do with my uneven spacing of the strips.  After I add the weatherstripping between the ends of the plates, I think things'll turn out much better.
