These fit just right Daddy!

Now my wife wanted to see what all the fun was about. --Let's make some bangs!

Um Honey, I heard that last one from upstairs and you said it was a lot smaller! Are you sure you want to do this?

We all backed up outside of the door and prepared for the unknown. As we counted down 3... 2... 1... the last thought that went through my mind was: "Oh God..."

Then there was the most increadibly LOW and Powerful BOOOOOOOMMMMM that I have ever heard inside of a house before. That was absolutely amazing. My wife and I were laughing so hard. You actually felt the concussion blast you in the chest! We called the neighbors just to let them know everything was OK ...in case they were worried. They said they heard it over at their house on the 2nd floor! -We were in the basement :)

The larger hydrogen explosions that I have done seem to be very LOW in sound, they are not a sharp Higher pitched bang like a fire cracker or M80. Now when I do just a tiny little amount in a balloon, it is a much higher pitched bang. In fact it does not even blow a hole in the balloon when it's just a small amount. I can use the same balloon over and over again for quite a few times. It does get very hot and the smell is quite intriguing when you remove the balloon and smell the inside immediately after. It smells like some very clean combustion --that's the best way I can describe it.

Here is an up-close shot of my ignition mechanism. This is very easy to make, just some tubing that is able to fit inside of other tubing with a TIGHT connection. I use it to hold the balloons on and at the same time, there are 2 nails pushed through it to the outside. This is what I connect my peizo ignitor to and use as a spark gap.

The valve works perfectly to control just how much fuel you allow to enter the explosion chamber (balloon).
