Your answer was just wat I needed but if you culd explain how you calculated the 8nf to get the 6amps wuld help even more .

The 8 nF gate capacitance is unique to that particular HexFet.

The 6 Ampere pulse requirement (for some very high power MosFets up to 9 Amperes) is the minimum recommended by circuit designers to assure very fast Turn On and Turn Off. The faster the HexFet is able to go to Full On when pulling a heavy current, the less heat will be developed as wasted power. And the same holds true for turning off; the faster it is able to Turn Off the less heat will be developed as wasted power.

The Turn On and Turn Off speed of the HexFet is very much dependent upon the ability of the gate driver circuit to charge the gate capacitance as quickly as possible for fast turn on, and later to discharge the gate capacitance as quickly as possible for fast turn off.

Therefore, the best driver circuits are those that can both "source" gate capacitor current for charge, and "sink" gate capacitor current for discharge.

Very good! A versatile power supply is something that we all need.

What output voltage range and output current range are you shooting for?

Do you want it to be line powered (120 VAC) or automotive powered (14 VDC)?

On a primary side of the box I'd like it to range from 0 - 600 V AC or DC with a current range from 0-60 amp constant current.
Ive been concentrating on a pulse section for a leg of the primary side , wat little time Ive had to spend on it so far.I hope everything fits inside an old desktop case'n from top to bottom, shlef like arrangement.The seconday sides I hope to range higher ...I just want it to do anything I culd possibly want it to do and have the ability to take paremeter measurments and then build appropiate power supplies for each project.... this thing I hope is capable of providing a way to keep bread boarding down .... hopefully elliminate breadboarding to some extent.
