Yes I know this is not about hydrogen, but there is not other spot for it. (Besides alaskastar started it). anyway, I was checking if anyone had tried it. Gas prices made me start thinking there is a better way.
alaskastar tried this and was successful, but stopped. He used an ammo can, pig mats, and ran his f350 truck 10 miles on 1/2 cup of gas. Thats 320 mpg!! He used a wicking effect to use the fuel vapors to run his truck. Like an oil lamp. I think it will work on any 4 stroke engine, I have the ammo cans, the pig mats, and figured out a float system to refill the can. I am going to test it on my lawn mower.

Did it work???

A friend of mine tried this on a 5hp briggs & stratton 4 stroke engine. He said it worked.

The only problems with this system are:
1. They use additives in the petrol that will gum up when you try to evaporate the fuel. You will get a sticky gooey residue.
2. If the mixture is too rich or lean, you will get backfires. You need to develop an anti-backfiring system. Perhaps something like a metal disc over a hole so air can only flow one way? Maybe a water trap or a bong type of system will do it. Mmmmmmm BONG! Hehehe
3. The fuel might need to be heated, and will perform very differently under different air temperatures.

It's a good idea, and allows for the use of many different fuels.
There are other systems like GEET, that will crack the fuel into more basic hydrocarbons. I suggest you do some study on this, it will be worth your while.
