I thought for the inductor/coil to be resonant it must be free to electronically vibrate, and thought it could not do that with a ferrite rod, thats why all Teslas transformers/inductors were air core. This is quoted from Lawrence Rayburn in regards to two different gauge windings" The larger gauge wire forces magnetically a denser electron current flow, thus amplifying current" Bifilar refers to winding a coil with a large diameter wire and a

Here he explains the theory behind the bifilar w/different gauge conductors, he is using it in a tuner, which does not apply here, but you can understand how it works......

"Larger wire sizes not only carry greater electrical potential, but
produce larger diameter magnetic fields for induction.
A bifilar wound secondary has near the same size wire as the
primary to take advantage of the electrical potential volume
transfer, but it is parallel wound with a second conductor that is
much smaller to raise current density (amperage) by magnetically
compressing the magnetic field around the smaller wire and
transferring the trapped potential (forcing it) into the smaller
wire. This gives both a voltage and amperage amplification"
