Project Description:
This in my 7 cell booster unit.  The middle plates are 3.75" x 12".  The outer plates are 13" tall and have stainless bolts mounted at the top for the + and - connections.  .105" diam. weedeater line spacers were used as I stacked the plates.  Then I tightly wraped polypropylene line around them all to squeeze it all together for even spacing.  I put silicone on the outside of all this and stuck the plexi-glass on.  Then I used goop to bond the plexi-glass together since silicone sticks poorly to plexi.  The silicone is just to fill in empty space and coat the stainless to reduce current leakage.    With around 4amps(battery charger guage) and 12.8 volts(DVM) it bubbled at .25LPM.  Of all the junk I 've built I like this piece the best. :-)  It doesn't leak, was easy, fast, and cheap to build.  It's easy to take back apart if I decide to change it, which I will.  Also, the tall narrow design keeps the solution from moving around much and keeps most of the plate area submerged even after the solution drops 2-3 inches.
